The one thing that's changed dramatically in many casinos is the auto-suffler combined with eight decks. It doesn't go an entire shoe, it's like you pick it up, you put it back in and it shuffled after three hands. You get a sense of whether the remaining cards to be dealt are royal heavy or low card heavy. But with eight decks, how can you possibly know that? The wait shall still happen the same fraction of the time. Just the numbers are just a little larger.
What does it take to count cards? Neil deGrasse Tyson and co-hosts Chuck Nice and Gary O’Reilly explore blackjack, quantitative thinking, and the journey from MIT blackjack player to angel investor with Semyon Dukach, Managing Partner at One Way Ventures.
