How Did You Get Your First Job?

I started in a research lab, which was making television camera tubes. I then transferred to a department called tape records - they were very involved with listening to EMI products and duplicating them. Then I got into a copying room where I B-road would send their latest efforts down to us to be duplicated for foreign countries. So I was literally one of the very first people to hear Sergeant Pepper from the master tape before anybody in the great wide world had ever even heard of it, let alone listen to it. And two weeks later, I became a trainee engineer at Abbey Road Studios.
