The city of Tyre was a hub for trade and communication in the western Mediterranean. The coast itself was dense with settlement, but practically all of the cities were blessed with fine natural harbors protected by small islands and reefs. We'll begin our Mediterranean tour in one of these bustling harbors, jam-packed with ships made from fine Lebanese cedar.
