The Importance of Eating Your Heart Out
Eating your heart out can also have the sense of excessive suffering that someone might go through because they can't have or obtain something. Or like I said if you say the phrase and follow it by someone's name then you're suggesting that the thing is better than that person. If you describe a bleeding heart what you mean is that you're just in pain. So if I say to someone oh just take my bleeding heart out of my chest it's not really something I would say. It's very dramatic but I'm just saying that my heart is bleeding.
