The Role of the Housewife in Mental Illness

In an article written in the 70s, Gov argues that married women are more likely to suffer from mental illness because of their roles as housewives. He says there's no separation between your job and your home life. And for working women, they end up being under greater strain than their husband Because they're tasked not only with providing income for the household, but for maintaining the household and their time off of work. But what Gov does say is that being a housewife is a very low prestige job. So that contributes to like feelings of low self-esteem.
