What Happened to Kaffa in the 15th Century?
In the opposite corner of the Black Sea towards the border between what's now Turkey and Georgia, Trebizons, the Empire of Trebizons. This was one of these little rump states that had been created when the Byzantine Empire was conquered by the fourth crusade in 1204. And this one managed to hang on to the 1460s.
