I think your book really works as a book of history is that you're not coming at it from any prism, you're just trying to understand the events of history through the actions of people and the context in which they operated. And so if I was 20 years old in 55, then like Jagdish Bhagavati and Manmohan Singh at the time, I might also have fallen for the Mahalonabis point of view, right. But at that time, what do you do? You are a new country. As you said, your default mode has to be optimism because you don't have a choice.
