The Effects of Singing on Dementia

Simon: People see me less if they start singing and that's interesting in itself. I think it is for them actually because I can be a bit dangerous as a doctor. Annabelle also said earlier in the clip that we played that she feels better after she goes to choir. There's some evidence that when we sing there's an area of our brain that gets more blood flow, the pre-cortical areas. They're usually preserved in dementia when a lot of else is gone.
