The White House Draws Battle Lines in Negotiations on the Debt Ceiling

The White House has convened the congressional negotiators that President Joe Biden's most recent legislative accomplishments are off the table. The inflation reduction act was targeted as part of the House Republicans bill to cut spending alongside the debt ceiling increase. Will it be able to get anywhere that pleases everybody by the time that we are looking at a default situation? Probably not.
