The idea was you'd be able to do more with fewer machines but it turned out that people couldn't deploy stuff reliably. The gartner numbers here's something like 95 percent of all outages are going to be caused by misconfigurations. You really need to get the obvious guardrails in place and then later on we can start thinking about oh my god what happens if some nation state attacks me or so of them.
