The Impact of the Moon on Life on Earth
The moon is slowing down the rotation of our planet. Our days would only be 22 hours long if we didn't have the moon. But there's a whole field called intertidal ecology which studies those animals and other creatures that live in the littoral zones. If the moon disappeared completely, we would still have some effect of the sun on tide.
