Where Is the Indian Voice in the Schoolboys?
In 19 68, george stoney decided it was time to put the camera in the hands of indigenous people. The indians have never had a voice in their own education. These early dialogue films are intended to stimulate discussion and increase communication between individuals and groups involved in social change. But while these films felt like a step in the right direction, they still were led by indigenous creators. Indigenous people were still subjects, but not behind the camera.
