The Pros and Cons of Twitter Subscriptions

There is a lot of subscription based services on different platforms, but it's all built towards individual creators. I think the main thing that people are paying for is the status of having a symbol on their page instead of trying to earn that symbol by getting 10,000 fans and having some reason like you're a famous celebrity or whatnot. Twitter got rid of half of their staff and they started charging for verification, but they still are just basically just keeping their head above water. It doesn't seem based on what I've heard that Twitter is necessarily making any more money.
