When we say it in the context of government, though, people say, Oh, yes, but people will starve. Well, you haven't made a positive argument as to how we can afford it. Donald Trump became president in the United States and on the campaign trail said that he would balance the budget and pay off the debt in eight years. It's so profoundly large that it would take you a hundred years to pay it off. But last year, we had the biggest deficit in our history. So obviously, things are only getting worse.
