The Importance of Taking Your Children Seriously
If parents decide to start taking their children seriously then there are going to be problems caused by previous coercion. The question is what will help solve problems and help the child learn? Is it going to be more coercion and thwarting or is it actually starting to try to solve problems now of course if you haven't been taking your children seriously before. I don't think it's obvious that there will be worse problems than if you carried on in the way that you were raising them before.
