The Rise of the Gays in America
The Pink Triangle was printed onto the uniforms of gay concentration camp prisoners in Nazi Germany. That had been reclaimed by early gay out-of-base groups that were more radical. By 1977, San Francisco has its gay freedom day parade. And it is still very much rooted in resistance. To this day Pride Month is June because it commemorates the Snowmoor Riots.
