The Diggers and the Revolutionary Government

In the middle of the 17th century you have a period of just a little more than ten years of where there is no king. The first writers that we could say if we were making up an anthology of classical liberalism for instance would start putting in names like levelers or diggers. They believed in the radical notion that all individuals have equal rights to life, liberty and property. This is the class that in the North at least helps make the American Revolution happen. So the stewards are brought back for a time but it won't be the last.
