The Tyranny of the Quantifiable

The tyranny of the quantifiable is this idea that what you measure kind of takes on so much importance that it drowns out the other things that you don't measure. So when we think about evaluating players, we're not sitting there watching a game as it unfolds while we do this. And the data that we do have starts to take on somuch importance that it becomes hard to think about other things. Here's a tweet i sent out yesterday led to a lot of really interesting conversation and ideas, and it has pole results.
