Are the Little House Books Races?
These books have been, not just to generations of children, bu in shaping a lot of our ideas about that period of american history. I think one of the things that has happened as a result of, you know, generations of chilren reading these stories is that we have accepted them as true. We haven't asked some of the hard questions about the real history behind the little house books. Including the ways in which white settlers interacted with indians,. what they did in terms of approriating land and resources. So the book presents a lot of issues that have to be dealt with.
