How to Write a Lyric

I always feel like at my best when I'm not in my comfort zone. So I lock myself outside in New York on the terrace on the window with a cup of coffee and say, I would not go in until I finished the lyric. It was pretty grim out there but it worked. There's no any one method of doing it. If there was a button to press where I'd get a banana, like a monkey, I'd keep pressing the button. But the button keeps moving. The button keeps changing shape by its location. You just have to be in a state of openness for stuff to come through.
