Should There Be More Calls for Reparations for the Arab Slavery Trade?
Soul: Is it problematic that these calls for reparations aren't being directed at other societies that have substantially profited off slavery? Soul: It depends on exact what position is being argued. I don't think any racial or ethnic group can be collectively responsible for anything, honestly. We have to distinguish between the idea of just every white person in the united states reaching into their pockets and paying out reparations to black people which would never be enacted anyway. soul: There are strong arguments against reparations, particularly for talking about feasibility rather than morality.
