The Downside of Enabling End to End Encryption on iCloud
Apple has made it so there's two different methods to recover your account now. You can either... you can set up a recovery key, which then you would have to save,. And if you lose that,you would have to be able to recover your data. Or you can setting up a recovery contact, which is like somebody else's Apple account. But there's still that risk of data loss, which is probably the main reason that right now they are like enforcing this for everybody.
