The Importance of Prophylaxis Trials

Public health messaging, I think this was a disaster all over the world. And India was no exception to this. We had this very strange recommendation from the Indian Council of Medical Research which suggested that hydroxychloroquine should be given to all healthcare workers in India. At around the same time, the drug control authority in India issued a number of emergency use approvals for a number of drugs including remdesivir, et al. SIMAB, PABI, PABI and others. All of this threatened clinical equipoise Which meant that enrolling into trials became that much harder.
