Tostig and the Northumbrians
Earl tostig never really wanted to be the earl of east anglia. And as for these northumbrians, he didn't seem to like them too much. Their blood feuds and particularly raw form of political culture didn't sit well with their new taciturn earl who was known for following a rigid set of rules and morality. He also tried to directly counter some of those northern ways that he took issue with when he began importing laws from the south. It's decision that made a lot of sense as a policy.
