Ico: Going more abstract helped us a lot. In those earlier versions, after you played a card, either your literal dialogue or like just a description of events would show up. And getting that to match what you expected when you played that card was super difficult. So by kind of adding this abstract element and removing your own characters saying anything a, it really helped. Because the player's kind of fool in the gap. Other other characters who are fond of you will again be very understanding of your miss matches.
