So there was like a experiment with rl agents that was testing types of misgeneralization and so what they did is they had a deep learning system that was trained to navigate a maze from the bottom left corner to the upper right corner. The agent started at the bottom left and always navigated to the same upper right location or rough location but it didn't go to wherever the cheese was in the maze. So if you're looking at this from the perspective of like did the model internalize the sort of high level objective i had in mind when designing the training process then it's concerning because the agent didn't going to the cheese even though the intent of the roar function was to move
