To be included in the study that needed to be clinical suspicion of oculic compartment syndrome a documented intraocular pressure of greater than 30 millimeter mercury prior to the procedure being performed along with documentation of the pressure post procedure. 62% of patients were transferred from a referring hospital to the trauma center EM providers performed the procedure on 50 eyes with a success rate of 68%. An ophthalmologist performed it on 24 eyes with a successful rate of 79%, so the numbers are different but it was statistically insignificant.
