Virgin Media O2's Open Virtualized Radio Access Network

Virgin Media O2 is one of the big four UK mobile network operators, to my knowledge. They've come out with various statements about having 800 sites across their four main markets that are open run based and moving in this direction. The VMO2 motivation for it to me is less obvious. It's almost like it comes, I suspect from the telephonic aside, being a real kind of evangelist for open run. But they haven't actually done anything as extreme as Vodafone in terms of saying we want 30% of radio sites to be open run by 2030.
