The plan, it seems, of these two kingdoms to the north, israel and aram, or syria, is to invade judah. They're just going to come in, depose the king and put somebody else in his place who will be sympathetic to them. We see ahaz inact this plan later on in second kings, chapter 16. But at this point in the history, this is only his plan. He hasn't done this yet. So here we go. Here's what he ends up doing in the future.
