Is There a Legitimate Alternative to the Tried and Tried Methods of Pressing Records?
Pressing records involves a huge amount of energy with both the steaming and the tooling. And the machines are left on for 17 hours a day. The plastic that is used is called p v c, or polyvina chloride which gave vine its name. According to green piece, p v c's the most environmentally damaging of all the plastics. Harm has spent the last seven years loping a new large scale pressing machine - but it hasn't worked yet.
