Mary was born in 17 68 to a family of farmers who lived in the village of asenby, about 20 miles from the city of york. She started plotting at an early age how she was going to improve her station. In fact, it was an early theft that cost her that job as a servant girl. But rather than return home, it s that she left for greener pastures, making her way south to the city of leeds. There she began to build a reputation for herself as a con artist and a cut purse. Some people believed that she had supernatural powers. Her break out moment happened later in life, when she came into the possession of a magic chicken
