There are spaces that lend themselves to one type of battle and not another. If you hold the village, you can really lock down the town square. It becomes a citadel. But it is also fairly isolated on one one end of the map. And so you're not going to be like doing a lot to support your efforts out in the fields where the other fighting is going to take place.
