The Dialectic of Hegel

Hegel was a hermeticist and he called his hermetic alchemy the dialectic. Man's role in this for hermeticism is to be the philosopher who thinks and makes the opposites collide through the principle of polarity. The thing and its other, the divine and the mundane, whatever the two sides of the distinction are, have to be seen not as opposed, but as parts of the same whole from a higher perspective. So what Hegel created is hermeticism retooled in modern era language.
