Nietzsche's Idea of the Ascetic Ideal

Nietzsche introduces the notion of the ascetic ideal primarily in the third of the three essays that make up the genealogy. And it is labeled for the various ways in which slave morality in its Judeo-Christian religious form mutates and evolves and permeates the culture of Western Europe. So most of the, as it were, moral structures that inform and shape the development of Western politics and morality right now are just as much expressions of slave morality as Nietzsche understands it.
