A retrospective case control study suggests that continuation of chronic abapentinoids into the post-op period was associated with an increased rate of naloxone administration. As we see in this episode today, early published reports of Gabapentinoid benefits were largely devoid of data on adverse effects and risks. We've seen from a few large meta-analysis studies that there are statistically significant decreases in post-operative pain scores but most do not meet established minimally important differences of 10 out of 100.
