The Fanny Alger Affair

Joseph Smith was worried early on that Oliver Cowdery had ambitions of replacing him. He made a confession to Brigham Young's brother. Do you think he might have made anything up in order to try and get just a happy coincidence? I don't give a date for when it happened. But I believe that when it started being revealed by Cowdery, it was probably pretty close to the time that it happened,. So that would put it probably in 1836.
