The Importance of Starting Points in Philosophy
Alex and David offer their suggestions on what would be the appropriate starting point for reading Plato's dialogues. Alex: "I used to think that the proper starting point was the apology, but I've come to think that that's somewhat wrong" David: "You can gain a lot of traction on just reading one of those through their entertaining, their dramatic, their sort of exciting points going on." The Alcibiades or Protagoras is an excellent place to start if you haven't read any of them before.
