James Lewis was arrested in December 1982. He always maintained that he had nothing to do with the murders, but told investigators that he had some ideas for how someone could have done it. While awaiting his sentencing, he calls the FBI and offers to help solve the title murders.

On September 29, 1982, Adam Janus suddenly collapsed in his home outside of Chicago. He died within hours. Later that same day, in the same house, his brother also collapsed — then his sister-in-law. All three of them had been healthy. Nobody could figure out what was going on.
