The Cuban Revolution
The Cuban revolutionary government immediately responded to Kennedy's televised address. Cuba began mobilizing 350,000 soldiers and militia men. A fleet of more than 80 American warships went into action in the Caribbean. At this time, about 25 Soviet ships were steaming toward Cuba.
