The Autonomy of Learning

I often don't bother with boring things unless they're part of a larger picture so certainly at school I was actually quite good at school but there were some things that I found boring and I just couldn't be bothered. This is again an autonomy thing which I think is also quite Western the idea that if I autonomously choose to do something boring then suddenly I can handle it even though it's boring or even though it has boring parts. It's partly I think the autonomy as well as the connection with a larger goal and a larger purpose which means that I can get through that. Otherwise if that's something boring I find it really really difficult to do for some reason I don't know why
