Cytokine Dysregulation in Down Syndrome Patients

Down syndrome is a very strong element of cytokine dysregulation that really affects a lot of these events, particularly when it has to do with autoimmunity and B cell abnormalities. One of the pathways that they see kind of basically app regulated is STAT3. And they see more basal phosphorylation of STAT3 by JAG inhibitors. They conclude that mostly this is due to this increased IL-6 expression in the serum. It's not clear exactly where this comes from but some obvious suspects are found in chromosome 21.
