A common thread in much of the nine bill package announced Thursday is reducing support for renewable energy resources like wind and solar. "You have the Republican-dominated government putting all these bills forward, many of them making it almost impossible to build renewables," he says. The big nasty bill that was still alive as of Saturday until it was ripped out by negotiators was something called Senate Bill 624. It creates a list of places where if a wind farm is within 10 miles or a solar facility is within five miles of one of these places.
