The show a pretty good take on the m on the book, there's a few divergent pieces. The main character is actually a good guy, like, he's a good person. And to your point, if you make the person so imperfect and so terrible and so stunted, there comes a point where i feel like,. it's not believable that they can overcome some of the problems that they're overcoming.
