Motherless Brooklyn by Jonathan Latham by Jonathan Bryson

Motherless Brooklyn by Jonathan Latham is emulating pulp detective fiction the hero of the story here ends up being a detective with Tourette syndrome. John McPhee has written an entire book on oranges and entire book on on hand carved canoes he's written coming into the country which is about the Alaskan wilderness. The one that I really enjoyed two pieces one is about a single tennis match involving Arthur Ashe called levels of the game  and then there's a shorter piece which was serialized in the New Yorker called brigade de cuisine about a tiny tiny tiny high-end restaurant before we had celebrity chefs.
