He started writing like pretty early in life. His father helped him publish his first book a book called Caesar which I know nothing else about. He was initially rejected by McMillan for being too slangy. It came out and over time brought him a level of fame and recognition that he had never had before. These kids today with their ham radios and their MTV so he seems very comfortable writing in this oldie timey mode. Yeah.
