The Differences Between the Main Street Left and the Radical Left
Bobby Kennedy represents a tension between the left that I think Bobby Kennedy represents, and then this new left of the radical left. The standard mainstream democratic position of the time is to be pro-Israel and pro-Kennedy. That doesn't mean that the Vietnam War on the left could really emerge as later. Richard Nixon wins a landslide election against George McGovern in 1972 because it was basically a referendum on the Vietnam War.
