The Negativity Bias in the Human Brain
The human brain is such a complex beast operating in such a complex world, that we develop these cognitive biases. They're just right more often than they're wrong - ore often enough for us to navigate the world. And so when we hear the snap of a branch, we assume it's a bear rather than a friend coming to see us. That makes me think also of paul bloom and akin sympathy, how we are screwed up in our wiring.
