Viet Cong troops have pushed back Long Knoll's forces to such an extent that they are now within sight of Penom Pen itself. In the face of Viet Cong advances, the South Vietnamese government and the United States decide to put boots on the ground. Over the next three years, Cambodia is hit with a volume of bombs larger than that dropped on Japan during the entirety of World War II.
