The Stuka Is Good When You Have Control of the Sky
The Stuka is really good when you've got control of the skies over which you're operating. And that's the same principle about in reverse for the Allies before D-Day. They need to clear the skies of the Luftwaffe in the run up to D-Day so that they can attack these low level bridges, marshalling the Arzal-Welwasser. You can't do effective low level attacks when you don't come on the skies because you're too vulnerable. The Stuka was also incredibly used at night over London in the Blitz.
