The Complexity of Humanity in Gilead
The way you love humanity, human beings, is it really shines through. And I think what I'm intrigued about is what came first. When you read all of your novels, but if I take John Ames in that, when you read that, you can feel the key and almost the fascination you have in that character. You make me love my own human existence. In a sort of a way, I didn't realize I'd been missing, if you know what I mean, in so much literature and all of that.
